JENISON HIGH SCHOOL: 8
Fruitport fell to visiting Jenison by a score of 8-1 on Tuesday night. The Trojans went a man down ten minutes into the game and struggled to generate an attack and absorb pressure against a very good Jenison team. The Trojans received their goal in the second half from Cody Mayette.
Although not happy with the result, Coach Hazekamp was proud of his team’s willingness to continue to battle in a tough situation. “First off, Jenison is really good and with an even field it is a tall task. With that said, I’m proud of my guys for continuing to play hard and show grit. We will take the positive from this and use it as we continue to grow for the end of the season.”
Justin Laus had 11 saves for the Trojans. Fruitport travels to Mona Shores for another tough OK Black matchup on Thursday.
