Fruitport fell to Spring Lake in district semifinals on Wednesday night. The Trojans fell into a hole early conceding two goals in the first 10 minutes before settling in. The Lakers added a goal early in the second half before Logan Manciu found the net for the Trojans to cut the lead. Fruitport has several opportunities to cut the deficit but could not convert. 

Coach Hazekamp was proud of his team's effort noting, "It would have been really easy to fold after getting down early but I was really proud of my guys for fighting the full 80 minutes and giving us an opportunity to get back in the game. I give a lot of credit to my seniors who laid it on the line today and battled all night. Spring Lake is a good team, especially on turf but we settled in and gave everything. This group of seniors possess great character and integrity and I was lucky to coach them. I have no doubt they are going to do great things going forward."
