Score
TROJANS: 70
HOLTON HIGH SCHOOL: 51

Fruitport defeated Holton on the road Tuesday night by a score of 70-51. The Trojans pulled away in the second half with aggressive team defense and an impressive scoring performance by sophomore Gavin Fisher. Fisher scored 13 of his career high 28 points in the third quarter, helping lead the Trojans to comfortably put away Holton.

Coach Erny said of Fisher's effort, "Gavin had an excellent all-around game, with several blocks, rebounds, and steals to go along with the impressive offensive performance. Everything he did today was within his comfort zone, not going out of his way to score, just being aggressive, confident, and doing what he is capable of doing."

Also having a season-best game for the Trojans was junior Ethan Flores, who in his second start on the year scored 17 points and helped set the defensive energy and tone for Fruitport. He scored 12 of his 17 in the first half. "Ethan is continuing to step up and provide a spark for us. He offensive game tonight was key, as we were struggling a bit in the first half and his scoring and overall solid play led the way for us early."

Other scorers for Fruitport were Rico Jones with 8, Marcelo Conklin and Cole Hoffman with 5 a piece, Luke Mitchell with 4, and Hunter Gannon with 3.

"Rico Jones was another spark off the bench for us as he attacked both the offensive and defensive boards and was able to finish around the rim. His energy is great and he is continuing to understand his role and responsibilities to help us win."

Up next for Fruitport is OK Black opponent Reeths Puffer on the road Friday night at 6 PM.
