With very tough weather conditions at Whitehall Saturday, the Fruitport lady Trojans placed second at the Whitehall Invitational with 15 points. Cadillac placed first with 18 points, Spring Lake third with 9 points and Whitehall fourth. Taking first for the Trojans were #2 singles Haleigh Winskas, #3 singles Olivia Parling and #4 singles Hannah Kelly. Taking 2nd for the Trojans were #1 singles Trinity Busscher and #1 doubles Emily Dirkse and Alison Blakeman. Also, scoring and contributing points for the Trojans were #2 doubles Hannah Labash and Hope Busscher and #3 doubles Katie Dirkse and Rowan Baird. "It was a challenging day with the weather conditions for the girls. We had many finishes we were pleased with however, we came up short in a number of tiebreakers that easily could have turned our way. The tournament showed us that we have to continue to work to improve as a team as the season progresses."
