The Fruitport Lady Trojans were crowned Conference Champions for the third straight year. The OK Black conference tournament took place Saturday in Jenison. Playing better tennis Saturday, as we round out the regular season, were #3 doubles Katie Dirkse and Rowan Baird and #4 doubles Jillian Hawley and Ella Kestner. Pushing Mona Shores and Jenison to the end were #1 doubles Emily Dirkse and Alison Blakeman #2 doubles Hannah Labash and Hope Busscher. Sweeping their competition in straight sets and and taking first were all the singles players. At #1 singles Trinity Busscher was once again conference champion against the best the other teams had. #2 singles Haleigh Winsksas bounced back at the tournament with strong play and a straight set win over Mona Shores. Olivia Parling at #3 singles took care of every player that came in front of her with energy. And Hannah Kelly continued with another strong performance taking care of the 4th singles flight. 

"The girls performed well Saturday considering the expectations heaped upon them year after year. Our doubles were challenged all day to improve play and build consistency, as that portion of the team contains mostly our younger players, and most flights carried that out all day. Singles players provided the team with confidence that we could not only win the matches with some consistent and dominant play but, help the team achieve one of our goals this year. This was a great team win and significant for Fruitport tennis."
