The Lady Trojans hosted their second annual Purple Out cancer awareness game tonight versus the Big Reds of Muskegon. Each of the Fruitport players dedicated their play to a person close to them that has battled cancer. It is the goal of the Fruitport Athletic Department to raise funds to dedicate toward families in our community battling cancer and remember the loved ones that are no longer with us. Fruitport defeated the Big Reds 25-7, 25-9, 25-7. The Trojans were firing on all cylinders tonight! Kennadi Dystra led the team with 7 aces while Sarah Zeilinksi and Jenna VanderVelde each chipped in 4. Makayla Lillmars and Erika Burgess both had a big night offensively recording 4 kills apiece. The Trojans will face Spring Lake and Whitehall on Thursday, October 3rd at Fruitport High School, game begin at 5:00pm.
